The U.S.S. Princeton was a World War II American carrier vessel that was demolished by Japanese forces off the coast of the Philippines in October 1944. The carrier had participated in successful campaigns throughout the Pacific, particularly for the Gilbert, Solomon, Marshall, Carolina, Mariana, and Philippine Islands.
